Almost too real. The original ride mysteriously burnt to the ground. When the smoke cleared, he was gone. To announce the the return of the mighty Kong to Universal Studios Hollywood in Peter-Jackson’s new 360-3D attraction, we needed more than a bunch of ads. We needed people to feel the threat of King Kong’s presence in their lives in a unforgettable way. So we let him loose on the city, and followed the beast’s path of destruction, along with the citizens of Los Angeles and international press, step by terrifying step.
ˇ
The stunt earned a Bronze Lion in Cannes. Kong, captured and secured in his new home at Universal by then, could not attend.
